Sourdough Pizza Making & Tasting Workshop
In this hands on fun sourdough pizza making workshop you will learn how to make your own delicious sourdough pizzas to eat at home.
After a quick introduction and top tips for sourdough pizza making we will start our practical baking session with:
– Weighing out the ingredients and working out the ratio of quantities of flour and water to use with our sourdough starter cultures
– Learning how to make and maintain a sourdough “mother” culture at home
– Typical kneading and shaping styles used for sourdough pizza making
– Baking your own sourdough pizza for the perfect shape and consistency
We use several different kinds of sourdough starters ranging from San Francisco sourdough, Alaskan sourdough, Rye sourdough and Colorado Rocky Mountain Brown sourdough.
All our starter cultures can be used to make great pizza bases. After making your own sourdough starter culture to take home with you and baking your own pizza with ingredients of your choice, we will have a tasting session with: – A selection of freshly baked homemade sourdough pizzas with different toppings.
You will take home: – Sourdough handbook with full instructions for making the starter cultures as well as sourdough pizza recipes for you to try at home & your starter culture to make your own yummy sourdough bread and pizzas at home.
